Photo Shoot : Lauren Barber

The other day I went on my Facebook Fan Page and I asked my fans what my next project should be and someone wrote athletic shoot.
I have already done a few athletic shoots at the beginning of my career but I felt like I needed to take it to the next level and see if I can do better, so I accepted the challenge and started setting up an athletic shoot.
Went on Model Mayhem and found the right model for me “Lauren Barber” and schedule a shoot with her
A couple of days ago then I called up a few local schools with running tracks and see if I could get the possibility of shooting on site.
Only one school called back and told me that as long as I go there after 3pm there shouldn’t be anyone and it shouldn’t be a problem.
The day of the session finally arrives, I have 2 great Makeup and Hair stylist from Look Sharp Salon in Auburn, CA and I get the model in with them about an hour before the shoot.
Once everyone was ready we met up at the school and before taking all my lighting and equipment out of the car we decide to go and find the track and take a look first.
As soon as we get there we see about 80 high schoolers running, stretching, and having football practice as well and the whole track was packed with them
unfortunately the model isn’t feeling too comfortable in shooting with all these people around and since I really don’t want to waste a day I decided to go back to the studio, set everything back up and shoot in there.
About 1 1/2 hrs later we started shooting and I was hoping the photos would turn out fine even if not on location .
Well these are the result of a long and stressful day

Self Portrait

Ok so today I decided to clean up my studio a bit and while I was there I came up with a slightly different lighting setup than I usually do, and I started wondering how it would look like.
After a few minutes of wondering and imagining, I had the brilliant idea to put on a nice jacket and make myself the gift of self portraiture
The next question was : what would the theme be???…and I think after a half second of serious thinking…EUREKA EUREKA!! the theme will be Italian Elegant self-portrait.
I ran into the kitchen, filled up a nice glass of VINO, jumped in front of the camera and WUALA this is what came out

Tahoe with the Family :)

On january 4th, the day before my family left to go back home in Italy, I decided to take a vantage of the perfect weather and take them to Lake Tahoe
It was a wonderful day and we had a blast!

The other day I ran into a Raccoon Costume at the local Party City, and I had the brilliant idea to buy it and create a superhero costume from it
A soon as the costume was ready. I went on Model Mayhem and found a very nice young model, Randi Bennett that agreed to be part of my latest superhero session
It was a fun shoot and we also had time for a few modeling outdoor shots.

Wedding Shoot : Brad and Krista Ramsey

On September 10th I have had the honor of being the official photographer of Brad and Krista Ramsey’s special day
It was a perfect day by the lake at the Ceago Winery in Nice, CA.
Also my good friend and great assistant Jason Briseno came all the way from LA just to help me out for the occasion.
It was an awesome wedding filled with great people, music and amazing food.
We worked really hard but you know how we are, we had fun! We danced, laughed and hopefully made our presence much more fun than expected.
I wish Brad and Krista a long life full of love and happiness.

Photo Shoot : M.Y. Allegiance

Last week I finally had my first Craigslist client call, and a very interesting one.
I have been asked to do some advertising work for a new Apparel Brand called ” M.Y. Allegiance ” which will be targeting all teenagers involved in martial arts, and school / after school activities.
I’ve had the chance to meet up with Linda Latvala , the creator and promoter of ” M.Y. Allegiance ” and she went over with me about her marketing strategies and told me exactly what kind of impact she would like the photography to give to her company.
Of course when she told me that she would like something edgy and visual I told her I was her man and that she wouldn’t have to worry about anything
We setup 2 shoots in 2 different local gyms and we have a lot of fun creating something effecting as much as edgy that would mix the Zen of the martial arts with the workout and everyday life of young teenagers.
In the end Linda was really happy with the result and assured me that we have quite a long journey ahead of us and that she will always use Riccardo Suriano Photography from now on

Celebrities on the “Born to Shine” set

On May 6th 2011 I had the honor of being the official photographer for the TWC show “Born to Shine”.
On the set I had the pleasure to work with a great crew and some amazing celebrities, such as Ruben Studdard, who couldn’t seem to stop making laugh the whole time
Overall after 14 straight hours of working and 1800 photos later, it was a great day spent with great people.

Superheroes : they watch and protect us!!!

Well well well….what can I say about superheroes that you don’t know?? I don’t think there isn’t much to say other than they are AWESOME!!! )))
There is one thing I can do thou….I can PHOTOGRAPH THEM!! How about that? And the fun fact is that I don’t even have to be one of them to get exclusive photos of superheroes in action ( Parker/Spiderman ).
I guess what I am doing here is calling out to all of you out there, watching and protecting us from the evil forces that want us to suffer, to come and find me I will be more than happy to give you a day off fighting crime and instead make you a model for a day, and show the world that there are a lot of you, way more than we can imagine.
